'Flying Start'

In 2010, 'Flying Start' will be held on Thursday 11th and Friday 12th February, with the option of staying overnight at Currie Hall (a residential college) on Thursday 11th February.

All 'Flying Start' events are completely FREE and give you the chance to make new friends and find out things about uni before university officially starts.  The two day on campus 'Flying Start' orientation programme is completely separate from other orientation events, so you can enjoy the benefits of all the other events as well.

At 'Flying Start' students can meet other new first year students; visit faculties in which the students will be studying; get to know the Uni campus; receive study skills advice; learn about life as a student from older students; and participate in fun social activities.

By lunch time on the first day (Thursday) you will have already met loads of new people. We have some fun activities for you so whether you're technical, artistic, musical, or creative in any way at all, your talents will be utilitsed. Just enjoy yourself and we'll take care of the rest.

At 'Flying Start' you will also be able to participate in:

- fun social events like volleyball;

- a quiz;

- take a trip up Winthrop Tower - the view is amazing!
