How do I become a Mentor?
How can I signup? You can apply online to become a mentor in 2010. If you are having difficulty, you can print out a text-only version and return it to Student Services, 2nd Floor, Guild Building, South End. I've signed up, now what? All new mentors must attend a Training Session before they can be matched with mentees. After you have completed the online form and nominated your training session, just come along to that session. If for any reason we need to change your training time, we will email you directly to your student email. It is therefore very important that you check your university email regularly for further information. It is UniMentor policy that all communication be sent via email to your university email. What does the role involve? Please view the Role Description [.pdf 47kb] to gain a better understanding of what is expected of you as a mentor. How many mentees will I have? How many mentees you have depends upon the ratio of mentors to mentees in your faculty. However, it won't necessarily be just you and your mentee(s). You may be arranged in mentor groups with other mentors and their mentees. Ideally you will have 3-4 mentees, however some groups will have more and some will have less. I have another question... If you would like any further information about the UniMentor you can contact us. |
