School Contact Person

In the past, many students have found that having a single contact person within their faculty or school reduces the difficulties they encounter in doing their course. The University of Western Australia has a system of school contact persons/Student Faculty Advisors for students with disabilities and medical conditions. This person acts as a single point of contact for students, and can advise and advocate on your behalf. You can contact the Student Faculty Advisor to discuss your situation and notify them of any special needs you may have. This may relieve some of the frustration that tends to develop if you have to repeat your story to lecturers, tutors, secretaries, and others.

To assist with the initial contact process, you will be provided with the name(s) of your school contact person(s) and if you have no objection, your name will be provided to the school. After this, it is up to the school and yourself to make contact with each other. If you have any questions about the student academic advisor system, do not hesitate to contact the Disability Officer.
